Kaiser

revel in chaos;

Cradle of Filth [Conquest] SmwXEG9

After the establishment of Daeva Eye in Dahlia—which is now recognized by the Fiore government as a city by itself—as well as the uprising of many other guilds in their respective regions, a lot has changed. The difference that took place during the span of a year was...immense to say the least. With her guild up and running in Dahlia, Kaiser felt like a whole new person herself. She now held the responsibility of a guildmistress, a title that she would never expect to bear five years ago. What’s even more fascinating? The cold undead nullifidian happened to be able to develop bonds with people, even if with a limited number of people, more specifically the four pillars of her guild. As much as she trusted and relied on them, of course there was always the underlying suspicion that one day, all four of them could take advantage of this and betray her, leaving her friendless and alone once again.

Negative thoughts aside, the vampire was on a mission today. Having a guild to call her own and a magnificent guildhall to sit pretty in was not enough for the greedy nightwalker. She wanted more, naturally, a trait that was carried over from her past human life. It was a humanly vice, to have selfish desires. She would never be content with what she had. However, it wasn’t a bad thing. It drove her to become stronger and more powerful, and it will continue pushing her to be more than what she is today.

Kaiser was a businesswoman before she became a guildmistress, albeit dealing more in the underground than with legal entities, but she was a businesswoman nonetheless. Even though her plan today required barely any negotiation, she wanted to appear civil and leave a good impression on the people of Dahlia, which was why she had carefully done some research and put together a presentation for the innkeeper at Warmwool Inn as well as a few prominent figures in the city who had interest in the well-being  of the inn, since Warmwool Inn was not just any inn. It had a lot of influence over Dahlia, and Kaiser didn’t want to be seen as ‘the guildmistress lady who walked in and bought the inn’. She was sure that would leave a rather bad taste in the mouths of the old timers. The goal was to establish lasting relationships with the people of Dahlia, that were both beneficial to her guild and the city as well.

Of course none of those who were invited to the meeting would miss it. It was something very new to the city, and they couldn’t help but feel that it was leading Dahlia in the forward direction. Kaiser went down to the Warmwool Inn, on her own today, dressed in formal attire since it was an important occasion, and to show her respect to everyone present. At first, Bron the innkeeper was adamant on not having this meeting, but was convinced by a few facts that Kaiser pointed out regarding the state of the inn. She could tell that he wasn’t entirely happy about it, but still wanted to hear what she had to say since after all, the old man wanted what was best for his dear old inn. He was old, and Kaiser believed that with enough persuasion, he would hand control of the business to her.

Once all the invitees gathered in the inn, Kaiser initiated the meeting. She began by talking about the weak points of the inn that she plans on fixing, specifically including how exactly she had planned on improving these flaws. For example, she pointed out how the medical supplies that were being used were old and not of good enough quality and that her guild could bring in medical supplies of much better quality as well as better trained medical care givers. Not only that...Kaiser also revealed her plan to refurbish the entire inn level by level to give the place a better look since it was like a refugee home at the time being. She explained how the place could be used to attract tourists from not only around the country, but also the continent, and how this could generate revenues. What’s more? She was also going to add a gym and spa to increase the frequency of people going in and out of the inn! Even though Bron claimed to have connections that help maintain the success of the business, Kaiser convinced him that she had connections herself, possibly more in number and reliability compared to the old innkeeper. She made sure that the way she spoke didn’t arouse conflict while also getting her points across clearly.

After the long and tiring meeting, Kaiser was glad that all attendants were in favor of her plans, and Bron himself seemed quite impressed in the end. He told her that he liked how she had a clear and well-planned vision. Kaiser left the inn with an accomplished look. The inn was hers and she was going to drink until morning with her guildmates to celebrate this.
