Plants. PLANTS! What ARE plants? Nah, what is the DEAAAAL with plants? They’re just there on the ground and don’t move! Pretty sad if you asked him. And why are they called plants anyway? He ain’t seein any fire exits and he deifnitely ain't seeing any sort of indications on where to go! Just greenery! Sooo boring. So if they’re kinda useless and don’t even tell ‘em how to escape a fire, why would anyone want to go find them? Well, there was this guy wearing nothing but a tiny jacket and shorts that wanted Bucket to go pick flowers like a little GIRL! A dainty little girl who picks flowers that heal your wounds and make you not die, like a GIRL. That’s right!

What was he thinking about again? Ah yes, he had met Dr. Peleke, he got the info on the plants he’d need to prance around the forest to find, took a few moments to tell Dr Peleke about how he, a 40 year old giant of a man, couldn't actually read or write, had Dr Peleke do him a solid and instead of writing down the names of the plants he drew him a good deal of simple, concise drawings with their features and, currently, was shuffling through the forest in absolute boredom, his mind dreaming up of all sorts of dumb and dumber scenarios and ideas about plants and what he was doing. Perhaps he needed a hobby or something that would finally keep his mind in order and not constantly, as it does currently, wandering and making his body move on pure autopilot. Perhaps he could take up something simple that required his attention, like solitaire. Maybe he could try his hand at learning how to read and write. Thing is, he can’t count for shit so he can’t play solitaire and he’s too suspicious looking to actually get help with learning to read and write. Besides, lately, he’s been having some.. dreams. They’re not like the nightly terrors related to his past, instead, those terrors are faced by a warrior wreathed in golden flames. And once the fight starts, he always wakes up in a cold sweat. At first, he thought it a simple meaningless deviation of his normal dreams but, this time, it was.. repeating. It had been a few nights already that he’s had that dream. What could it mean!? What did it– ah, look, one of the plants.

After comparing it to a drawin’ that the nice Doc. had given him, he picked it and continued.
Right. Even if he’s struggling with himself and his mind, the best he could do was focus on his own thing right now. That being the plants, mostly because the doctor promised some SERIOUSLY good moneys if he did it right. Why would he give such fat rewards for something so simple, he really couldn’t figure it out. All he had faced thus far were a tiger or two, not anything big.

Perhaps it was the trees that cut into the skies just because the plants grew in the bark near the top, but that couldn’t be it. Literally who can’t climb a tree? Even if the air is a bit thin towards the top and the tree’s wobbly, it’s still just climbing a tree. Besides, the plants were just there, easy to pick. Couldn’t be that either, as he climbed right back down, having to actually hold onto the tree tightly as it broke towards the top and sent him tumbling to the floor. Still, there’s a lot of brushery down there and, aside from a few scratches from the brambles, he wasn’t really bleeding and there were no broken bones, so this couldn’t be the difficult part! No! Still, he shrugged his shoulders, took a look at the list he had been given and went by the images, checking off that plant off the list.

Perhaps it was those crevice-growing plants? Well, not exactly.. It’s just a matter of being careful and climbing down. Rocks are easier to climb than trees anyway, so it’s quite simple! Go down, get the plant, check it on the paper and climb right back out! Even if it was quite the tight fit that didn’t let him move much, being that tight meant he wouldn’t fall so easily, so if anything, it just made his life easier. If this wasn’t the difficult part that justified the price, then what was?

Ah! The cliffside daisies! He thought they were called daisies anyway. Couldn't see the difference. That could be it, after all, it’s much harder than a crevice! Climbing down, being careful not to fall, grab the plant and get right back up! It’s.. actually not as hard. Sure, he could die easily if he tripped but he didn’t, so.. yeah. Even if he couldn’t see the bottom from the spot where he grabbed the flower and a bunch of the ledge he stepped on broke off like it was made of gravel, he just didn’t fall cuz he was holding onto the wall! Simple as that, why do people even die from falling off cliffs? Nah.. That couldn’t be it.

Still, he checked it, double-checked if he had everything and, not knowing just what made this mission so difficult, returned to the doctor and gave him the plants, taking a moment to ask the doctor just exactly what made the mission so difficult that he’d offer such a handsome reward for it. After all, the trees are easy, the crevice is too tight to really fall into and when it comes to cliffs, all you have to do is hold onto the walls and not fall. In response, all that Bucket got was a long stare from a shocked professor who just couldn’t process what this idiot with the strange head had just told him. Instead, he shrugged, laughed it off and just paid the man. With money in hand, Bucket would leave off to do his own thing, forever in the dark. Poor man.
