Ryuko

There she was, seated on her throne in the Dragon Order's keep. A thoughtful frown lingered on the dragon girl's visage as she pondered her next course of action. She had set in motion the events that would see the foundation of her group, but Ryuko was no fool, she knew her actions would have consequences. The stirring embers of conflict in Pergrande couldn't be ignored, and it was highly possible that it was only a matter of time before one would target the key figures that would be responsible to see her ambitions take shape.

"When I see you thinking so carefully I can't help be reminded of Bahamut."

A feminine voice called out beside her, and turning her gaze to the side Ryuko watched the shadows manifest into the shape of the young lance-wielding woman. A figure whose legend had long been lost to the passage of time. "hmm, just trying to piece together the last fragments of the puzzle. Although Skald and Kars are easy enough to handle, I need someone with a different mindset that would be able to keep an eye on Coventina and aid her when she needs it."

The lancer couldn't help but smile at these words. "She is a dangerous vixen for sure, perhaps you need someone who is used to deal with such a femme fatale?"

Someone who is used... Did her general have an idea? "I think there is a particular champion that could be coaxed into collaborating with you. But for that to become an option you will need to-"

Ryuko listened carefully as the lancer whispered her suggestion, a brief widening of her eyes being the lone betrayal of her disbelief. "Mai~ Mai~ Such an idea is quite bold, but innovative nonetheless. I like it, let us see if it works."

Ryuko watched with a hint of interest as her general disappeared back into the shadows, leaving Ryuko to contemplate her next course of action. If her memory served her correctly Coventina was still at the keep and had yet to return to Oak to finish the last of her business there, a light tap on the arm of her throne followed by the dragon knight rising from her seat.

"Time to find a Coventina~ I wonder what she will think of this arrangement." A soft hum followed as she started to prepare to leave the throne room in search of the vampire lady. Surely she had not been hiding under the blankets all this time? Then again, some vampires did feel lethargy during the day so perhaps... Perhaps not a bad idea to check first. She wasn't entirely certain why she had done so, but despite the fact she had offered Coventina a guest chamber of the highest comfort, the dragon girl instead made her way to her own chambers, a part of her expecting she would be more likely to find Coventina there instead of the guest chamber. Why? Part of her thought it might be a playful little ambush set up by the lady of the night, another part of her thought maybe Coventina was hoping to get a different taste of power today, one Ryuko was about to grant her....

Coventina
Ryuko's initial concern would have been proven correct; Coventina Carmen, the mistress of the night and recent bedfellow to the Tyrant Dragon, had done little more than recuperate beneath satin sheets her short stay in this, the monarch's keep. She had little time left before she had to return to Oak for the final preparations of this invitation, choosing not to linger on the coming supplanting and instead take every lavish chance she was given in the throes of rest. She held apathetic toward daylight on her best days, most of all toward activity that asked more from her ceramic skin than basking. Ryuko had promised many things; power, respect, evolution; and Coventina took the splendor that would come with these as her greatest bounty.

It helped that she was left largely to her devices in the dark reaches of her room, spinning a territory akin to a spider with every creeping shadow that proved treacherous and unwelcoming to all but the most eager food. She sighed from the plush of a comforter, straining her neck in a crane that wove restless strands of hair in a pooling around her face. She'd blink, slow, quiet - taking in these last moments of silence with chatoyant amber organizing too many thoughts to decipher - before rising with that same patience. Silk fell from her shoulders, a drape of raven locks displaced to hang improperly in bangs that'd shroud her eyes in like to the veil of black she'd slink out of.

She wouldn't leave her room until her every aspect was in its place, presentable, and the clutch of her bodice was the last thing she tied to a slow exhale from her lips. Abject stillness. She'd slip out of the room with the same hushed demeanor.

This is how she'd be found some time later on Ryuko's bed with legs crossed and her chin in a hand balanced off her knee, eyes closed on first sight only to lift like curtains and make known the smoldering gaze beneath. Her breath came like smoke, intensifying every step into Ryuko's chambers with this cloying interest and it clung to her no different from Coventina's stare. "Oh, darling," she spoke, her every word slower than her unhurried movement to sit a little straighter in the dragonkin's presence. Her lips parted in a pleasant half-smile. "Welcome home. Can I get you anything?"

A tease, of course. This didn't work that way.
