Nana was excited about today's quest. it had been some time since she and her teacher had done a quest together. Like many of their involvements, it would surely include the misfortune of others. That was not a concern to Nana however. All she cared about was completing the request at the clients' specific details. if they forgot to add extra rules or didn't tell her to NOT kill anyone... She would take liberties wherever she could, naturally. "One hundred thousand jewels. That's my final offer, Captain Tailor." Nana would say resolutely as she crossed her slender arms beneath her obscene bosom. 

She stood taller than the captain, even with his tri-horned captain's hat. The man gazed at Nana through his one good eye- his other eye taken by the sea and replaced with a leathery eyepatch. Nana was a tall and shapely woman with unnaturally large womanly 'assets' She had extremely long blonde hair and purple luminous eyes that struck fear into a lesser human, simply from the intensity or lack thereof in her gaze. Today, it was an intense gaze. A gaze that made the captain second guess his decision when he noticed Nana had noticed him ogling her body for an indecent amount of time. She had killed lesser men for.. well. Less. "I uh.. I beg yer pardon Miss. A lass such as yourself ain't fit for sea treacheries. Why I've never had a woman ask to do battle with a sea monster while wearing a dress, or any woman for that matter!" exclaimed the captain, rousing a hearty laughter from his crew of misfit seamen.

It was not an unusual statement to be made. Nana wore a lavish dress that showed off both of her legs and her ample cleavage. She knew she was beautiful and she often used those charms to her advantage against both men and women. To some, Nana could be considered a deity, a goddess descended upon mortal realms. Anyone who truly knew Nana however, knew that the case was much more likely the opposite. In reality, Nana was far more sinister in heritage, as well as personality. She liked to act innocent or mature however, until the time was right to reveal how much she enjoyed inflicting pain upon others. "I assure you. Even if I were to sit on the deck in an reclined chair, naked and were sun-bathing. My companion here would be more than plenty to handle a mere sea serpent alone." the tall blonde woman would say as her right hand gestured towards the cowled figure standing beside her. 

In her left hand, she upheld a thick and weighty bag of jewels and tossed it to the captain. Within the bulge of the bag, was well worth one hundred thousand jewels. An easy bait to entice the captain and his crew to go along with their plan. It hadn't been easy to set sail and gather fish to sell, with the giant sea beast lurking in the deep waters. It was easy enough to win the men over with the promise of wealth alone. Surely her teachers' reputation would also have a very large part in persuading the men if they still were hesitant. "Oh and one more thing... We brought our own bait." she would say as she stepped aside to reveal a bound and gagged fat bald man who writhed in an attempt to break his bonds... but to no avail. Nana had made sure to tie them so tightly that they dug into his skin as he squirmed. She was proud of that little fact.

As the captain stuffed the bag of jewels under his coat, Nana would glance towards her teacher. He would understand her intent perfectly. Finally after the bargain was struck, the two Eternal Nightmare guild members would be allowed to board the captain's ship. They had been standing on the peer after all, looking for an eager crew to use in this sea hunter endeavor. They had finally found one and soon they would be ready to set sail. The third companion of the crew was a small burly exceed who nonchalantly sat on Nana's shoulder and grabbed onto her golden locks for support.

Erebus

Erebus silently held himself behind Nana, in his new weapons. A golden pike was fastened to his back by an invisible magical equip enchantment. Another long beat stick with sharpened arrowhead teeth created an X behind him, expecting a dragon against a blue background eating the sun. Erebus, as always kept one dagger with him. His ace, Spellslasher, which turned magic into dust. His clothes were in classic dark wizard regalia, Erebus looking something like a Sith Lord wielding ancient mythical items. Charlie was tucked right in Ere’s bag, which he wore over his shoulder.

In reality, he was a collector of powerful equipment. Choosing to prioritize the martial ways of combat over the magical. It made Erebus a threat at close range, and what’s worse? He could double his size, standing like a bear amongst other men, morphed into a bipedal lion warrior, and even more? He had four extra long arms to poke from any angle with.

Erebus was already the most infamous in the West. He needn’t speak, as Nana was fully capable of holding the conversations to a minimum.

Erebus soon made his way aboard with the girl he formerly had helped. Helped, coached— regardless it was Nana’s own achievements which brought her to this point. Erebus was simply eager to get some extra coin and align his own strengths together.

Aboard the ship, Erebus takes a seat by the ships edge, he stares out into the abyss of the ocean’s crest. Finally he offers words to his fellow Nightmare. “You should see if they have any fishing poles, maybe we can bait the beast.”

Nana was standing on the deck of the ship, close to the right side of her teacher. He had been her mentor, guide and moral compass. She had been placed in his care after being adopted into Eternal Nightmare by Odin. She had been raised on the streets and Erebus had taught her to be more than street wise. He had taught her the basics of melee combat and to use daggers. She had been proficient with them, but she had found a better way to use her excessive mana.


"Suppose I can find a fishing pole around here somewhere to hold up our bait." she would say cheerfully at her teacher's request. Of course by bait, they both meant the bound man who was laying on his left side behind the two nightmares. He writhed a bit, almost too tired to struggle against his restraints anymore. A bit of blood trickled down his arms where he had rubbed his skin raw trying to get free. that was just seasoning in the water to lure their beast to the surface.


Upon Nana's request for a pole or something, the sailors were a bit confused and conflicted. They offered a wooden beam, since it was the only thing that could support the heavy man's weight. Nana would tie the man to the beam and dust her hands clean. "Fishing pole is ready, teacher!" she said cheerfully, despite the horrendous act the two of them were about to perform.

Erebus took a hefty swig from his flask. “Good— drop his ass,” Erebus motioned downward and the men should been plunged deep under the waves, sitting up from his place against the edge of the boat. Erebus watched the bodies splash below. “Alright. Now we just wait for something that eats them and we kill it, turn it in. Fucking perfect, Voilà.”

The Rogue stretched his glutes turning his attention to Nana. “You almost ready for the big day?” He said eager to investigate Nana’s power, her growth rate was beyond exceptional. Speaking of, he noticed her hair had went through a style change, but wasn’t really one to speak on such things. Usually however, those were signs they were coming along fine. Erebus was just about to speak up again when, a large splash could be heard over the railing of the boat. It seemed their bait had got a hook.

Erebus turned all the away around, bent neck facing the ocean. A single slithering tail submerged. The whole boat rocked at it’s axis as a the boat scratched against some sort of submerged mass.

Nana always considered herself a creative genius, an artist even in her humble opinion. To most, the fat man tied to a wooden beam would look horrendous to most- in fact, the sailors all turned away, helpless about what the two nightmares were about to do to a man. It was simply inhumane. The two nightmares were living up to the exaggerated expectations that the common masses spread and believed in.

With strength above average humans, Nana lifted the makeshift fishing pole and fish bait over the side of the ship. She dipped the upper half of the pole into the water, the part that had the man. She would lift it occasionally to make sure that her bait didn't drowned though. She knew that sea creatures preferred their prey to be alive and squirming. 

It hadn't been too long once they had hit the deep water that the captain of the ship notified them of such. Nana was in the midst of answering her teacher's question when they would be interrupted. "I've come a long way in a short time, Erebus-Sensei. I challenged Jikan to a duel just to test myself... She's still a bit out of my league, but Im sure i can handle anyone weaker." she would say, then she would feel the sway of their ship as it hit someone beneath the waves. Her fishing pole was snapped in two and she lost her bait. This would be followed by a large wave that would crash into the side of the ship, tipping it over and spilling the two nightmares into the deep waters.

As the boat side tipped, Erebus instinctively stabbed two daggers into the ship’s side. He stared around the scene craning his neck, no islands for quite a distance. Well— shit.

Erebus sighed, his hands began stabbing each dagger into the wall and scaling it like an insect, with the other two grabbing objects to heave himself up with. Finally he was able to stand on the railing at the top, which was slowly sinking with the butt of the ship practically under water.

“That’s good news Nana. Persevere and one will be rewarded with power. It often comes to those that don’t seek it, but for us who do. It can be world changing.” He finished with the conversation and looked around. Most of the fisherman were being eaten by a serpent beneath the waves.

“Why don’t you show me what your new skills can do. Those things on your hips wouldn’t happen to be pistols would they? Curious weapon. I haven’t seen them used before.” The Rogue said, rubbing the deckswob off his knees.

He wasn’t going to be much help in a fight like this, however. Perhaps Nana would be of assistance, thought the Guildmaster. His crimson iris scanned the aggressive waves. Complete calm radiating off the future godsblood.

The plan was ruined. At least, the initial plan. Erebus and Nana had already made a silent agreement to murder the whole crew and take all of the riches for themselves. A plot that while would have proven a good bonding moment for the two killers, was thwarted by an even bigger killer. Bigger, not better.

Even as the ship was sudden cast about by a large wave and teetered on the brink of capsizing, both Nana and Erebus had acted instinctively, doing what their bodies demanded to stay alive. For Erebus, that had been to use his daggers as leverage against the impressionable wooden structure of the upturned boat. For Nana, it had been more racial than skill. 

She knew as soon as the boat had been rammed, that a massive predator had taken their bait and simply wanted more delicious meals. As the boat had begun to capsize, she was separated from her teacher. Her hands had been holding the makeshift fishing pole during the initial impact: due to this, she had no solid grip to prevent herself from being flung overboard. over the rail she went, still clutching the wooden beam half in one hand.

She would fly backwards as the ship would turn over, but she wouldn't descend. Rather, she remained stationary in the air as her body had instinctively transformed into its Daemon half-form. Three meter obscura wings erupted from her back and she remained lofted in the air as the rest of the inhabitants of the ship scurried for secure holds, or were mercilessly thrown into the deep waters of the ocean. She saw that her sensei had secured himself and wasn't among the first of the seafood being devoured by a large sea worm.

She knew that this battle would be a very short but brutal one. Sea battles without proper footing was simply a battle of attrition. Eventually they would all fall into the waters and become easy prey to the deep dwelling predators. Nana had no intentions of becoming sea food. She reached within her essence and allowed the devil within her to manifest its powers, corrupting parts of her body with malicious tendrils that emanated a sinister aura. Additionally, horns grew out of her hair on both sides of her head. She brought about her two guns to which her sensei had referred to, erecting them forward and down into the waters, to where she could see the dark outline of the beast beast as it devoured some of the sailors. 

She began an incantation, preparing to pull both triggers. Magic circles appeared at the tips of each gun barrels as she verbally recited the incantation. "And shepherds we shall be. For Thee, my Lord, for Thee. Power hath descended forth from Thy hand. That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command. So we shall flow a river forth to Thee. And Teeming with souls shall it ever be." she finished, pulling the triggers, releasing one black beam of magic and one white beam of magic, firing it into the water and into the beast beneath the waves. 
After firing the guns, she would call out to her teacher below. "These weapons suit me." was all she would say for the moment. A better explanation could come after the danger had passed. After firing, she would quickly move closer, lunging the short distance in the air with the assistance of her wings, dashing likely more quickly than even her teacher had suspected her capable of. Her reasons ofr moving closer, was to assist her teacher if necessary, but also to deal more damage to her target. Surely hitting it with two S Ranks worth of damage would incite its wrath and force it to the surface.

Erebus

Erebus watched the guns fire down two beams and was noticeably impressed. “Wow nice shot. That’s pretty neat having those things, but I think I’ll stick to melee.” Ere said with a lifted thumb, and another swig from his flask which he retrieved from his shirt. Narrowly, but rather stylishly balancing his acrobatics over the rail looking down at at the water.

He then began to scan around the boat, until he could notice an orange life boat with some red life jackets down below. Currently a few men were swimming towards it— so Ere did nothing and let the beast eat them alive. He then studiously zoned back into what his disciple Nana was up too. “Yeah shoot his fucking head off.” Erebus maniacally encouraged with a smile.

“I’m upset we couldn’t ransack the boat before it turned over.” The Rogue mentioned, as he slowly sank, inch by inch. “Would have been awfully nice for my bank account.”

Her power did not come without a price however, her transformations and magic attacks were a drain. Even with her rather large mana pool, she felt a chunk of her mana gone already. She had moved closer to be more efficient in her attacks and deal as much damage as possible. That didn't mean she always chose to spend her mana wisely of course. Even as she had closed the distance towards Erebus and the sea beast, she too had noticed several of the sailors swimming towards the only life boat that still seemed in tact. One of those men was the captain of the ship.

Momentarily while the sea serpent writhed beneath the waves from her first attack, Nana turned her left pistol towards the water's surface and fired a basic shot at the captain, hitting him in the leg and impeding his ability to swim quickly. His slow treading on the water allowed the beast to snatch him up into its maw as the enraged beast surfaced from the flatness of the water's mirror-like surface. It swallowed him whole as it emerged and erupted into a frenzied roar of defiance at being injured.

The sea serpent was an alpha predator in the deep waters. It was unaccustomed to receiving such damage. Confused and enraged, the beast had surfaced and opened itself up to more of Nana's follow-ups as she moved quicker than even the beast could react. before it had even settled on the next snack, hopefully whichever one had injured it in the first place. With a twirl of her wings and the guns out wide, she would twirl about the sea serpent's neck, allowing the sided blades on her guns to cut deep gashes into the beast's neck as she twirled around one side of it. After the full twirl, she would straight out again and fire her guns once more. Another large magic circle appeared and each gun fired again, dealing one S Rank damage with each gun.
+ the melee damage from each of her guns(100base+ STR stat modifiers)=281 physical damage)= 3 A Ranks

Erebus finally dived off the railing, traveling to the creatures long, thick spine. Nana had sliced an arching run around the neck of the beast, but it’s thick backbone was it’s support. Erebus put the maw of his arm through the backside of the beast, squeezing his arm under the flesh as his make shift incision, when he felt bone, he instantly tore back one of his four appendages, and dislocated the creature from his lower half.

Effectively immobilized Erebus hopped to a crouch position. When he kicked his feet off the beast’s back, ripples in the ocean formed tsunami waves and the beast was sent meters below water with the thanks to both Erebus and Nana’s efforts and damage. With the mister dead, Erebus treads the surface, before swimming towards the life boat, stabbing dagger through the back of any moving crew members nearby it.

The water would have been so clear you could down a few meters but there was much too many corpses floating and inky red streaks polluting the ocean waves. Bubbles and rum, all floating around the wreckage like debris from a plane explosion. The whole deal on the water would not go unnoticed by local islanders, but perhaps shitting on Luluhawa was the first and most minor way for Erebus to draw Alisa’s attention toward her most pressing of matters.

Shortly after the deed is done, he is picking his old apprentice up and offering her a hand aboard. Erebus messes with the engine, attempting to force it to turn on by reving the motor with a powerful pull. When the vehicle permitted they move again. Erebus slinks into the orange blow up boat, relaxed and done with any more challenges left today.

“I’m proud to call you a member of Eternal Nightmare Nana. You’ve earned your colors. When I’m gone, I hope you carry the training with you into your next chapters. I fear I might soon bite it. Let’s hope not, but only time may tell. I have a few special operations missions I need to go on, but I can’t risk your life until you are A-rank. Meet me at the Spiral when the day comes.” Erebus said, before pulling his hood up and drifting to sleep on the sea. Erebus trusted Nana would get them back, so he took his liberty to rest up. There would be more work tomorrow.

Thanks to the handy work of Nana, and the murder of all witnesses, there would not be any proving they actually killed anything. But the town couldn’t just stand against Eternal Nightmare and their small army. So the two are rewarded handsomely. The only kicker was the bounty on their names was raised as usual.

Nana watched passively from the air as her master leaped into motion, using his powerful arms to dig deep into the mortally wounded creature and rip its upper section to part by taking the bones as if he were flaying a fish. Nana whistled at the site and gave a small chuckle.  She would meet her sensei by the boat to which he would give a few cranks before it would start. he'd offer a hand to help her into the boat, which she graciously took. Her transformations and attacks took a toll on her mana and she could feel the drain intensely now that the battle was over.


Once within the boat, she would take over the rudder while her sensei leisurely laid about. His words made Nana happy. For years she had tutored under him and sought his approval. All of her hard work had paid off thus far. She could tell that she was on the cusp of even greater power, but she didn't want to boast before her teacher. "Thank you Erebus-Sensei." she would say humbly, being more docile than was accustomed to her. In a way, he was like her older brother that she had never had. 


It wouldn't take long before they would make shore back near the South of Fiore, or maybe it was closer to Luluhawa- Nana wasn't too sure at the moment. It would be easy enough to find passage however, as there were plenty of boats in case the two nightmares needed to transition.
